Awakened

  • Inspired by the Movie 'Lucy'
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucy_(2014_film)

I have created a new Feat that will be exclusive to a Subrace called 'Awakened'

The feat is called Adaptive Flesh

Because of the Awakend's Brain Power - their Cells within their body react to damage in a defensive manner.

The more damage they sustain - the more resistant they become to that specific damage type.
However - this damage resistance is not flawless.
By becoming more resistant to one damage type, the cells lose their memory of other damage types, sacrificing any memory of those damage types.

    OOC:
All Damage is reduced by 5%
The dominant damage type from each attack will have its resistance increased by 5% each time the player is attacked.
All other damage types will have their damage resistance reduced by 5% per attack.

Eg: If you are hit by Isaacs Missile Storm - taking into consideration that it does Negative and Magical damage in Rhun
If the first missile does 25 magic, and 32 neg damage: Then Negative is the dominant element.
    +5% to negative resistance:
    -5% to all other resistances

The effect is cumulative with each attack.
If your foes keep using the same elements against you, you will become increasingly resistant to those attacks:
Up to 90% damage can be mitigated.
Damage Resistance from this feat will never reach negative numbers : always keeping you at 5% resistance to all

The Awakened Subrace will have resistance conveyed by this feat from level 10, in addition to teleport powers from Level 20.
They also gain a Regenerate effect giving them 5 health per 20 seconds. This regenerative effect may be improved at a later date - depending on whether I choose to add some new features or not.

  • Sorry, to clarify it means

    Netrual Good
    True Neutral
    Neutral Evil

At least- I hope it does - I havent tested it thoroughly - so for all I know I have got the alignment restrictions inverted and got it going for lawful / chaotic instead of good / evil.

  • So no ability score boosts?  Okay then, thanks for the answers.

  • No base ability score bonuses planned for the time being.
However - Because the premise behind the subrace is that they can adapt to survive - they may end up getting feats that modify their ability scores over time etc.

Still to iron out the details - but it might be the case that if they are missing often - they get more AB over time  (up to 20% bonus)
If they hit often but do low damage - give them STR etc (up to 20% bonus)
If they are getting hit often - give them Dex (up to 20% bonus)
If they are consistently low on health - increase max health slightly. (up to 20% bonus)

Some is more feasible than others.
